Tragic loss

More horrible news that I am having a difficult time grasping...

Actor Anton Yelchin passed away today in a car accident.

He was 27 years old, which is unbelievable to me as I am typing. This would be tragic news under any circumstances, but particularly when involving someone at the very beginning of their life and career. I love the vulnerability and spontaneity that this immensely talented actor brought to his roles. I keep reading amazing things about him and I am so deeply sad for his family and friends.

I really enjoy Yelchin's Chekov and am looking forward to Star Trek Beyond. Seeing the film is going to be a joyful and melancholy experience at the same time. I have never seen Like Crazy, but have heard wonderful things about it. Yelchin's performance was one of the rare good elements of Terminator: Salvation and Fright Night was one of the must fun remakes ever made. I have 5 to 7 and Only Lovers Left Alive waiting for me on my DVR and I will now be watching them from a different perspective. He had so much to give as a human being and as an artist. This is a senseless loss and I am truly sorry.

There are too many tragedies occurring in the world nowadays. Way too young. Way too soon.

Rest in peace.
